Virtual Reality (VR) - Augmented Reality (AR)

-VR creates a simulated environment and provides you with its virtual environment through a headset and thus you feel like you exist in an environment which you are actually not in.It offers you its own reality by replacing the real environment and enables you to experience an entirely different reality. It has head-tracking technology, which means that you should turn your head to directon that you will look at.It can also be done through a controller. It takes its name from Jaron Lanier in 1987.The first VR called Sensorama was invented by Morton Heiling.

-On the other side, AR doesn't put you into another reality, but carries another reality into yours and combines virtual and real environment. It enriches real scene with graphic, sound and visual through computer technology. It can be used through compatible smart devices such as mobile phone, tablet, laptop etc.For instance, do you want to go to Jurassic Park? Choose VR, but if you prefer to see a dinosaur in your house, then use AR.Additionally, "google maps" that is used by many today is thanks to AR technology.AR takes its name from Thomas Caudell in 1990s.The first AR developed is Sword of Democles by Ivan Sutherland in 1968.

-These two technologies are spreading fast today.Their area of use is large from entertainment, healthcare, business, military training to education. They have the potential to change these sectors to a great extent in the next days. Both let you experience exciting things.Along with similarities, there are also differences between them. For instance, VR removes the reality while the other enriches the reality.AR includes both virtual and real environment while VR includes only its own reality.Everything is virtual on VR, but things that are real or virtual can be distinguished on AR.Unlike AR, users break their connection with real world completely on VR.Lastly, your sight is limited to the screen of any device that you use on AR, but you have a large sight as in real world on VR.

-I also would like to mention about MR, which is the combination of VR and AR.MR and AR offers view of the real world, but being different from AR, users can interact with virtual/real objects like making an object bigger/smaller or changing its position through MR.

I am leaving a QR code through which you will reach a video about what VR and AR are.
