What is Quizlet?

     

     -It's a learning application through which you can prepare study sets with flashcards and do practices while studying on words, terminologies or any thing that requires memorisation.It adds to your vocabulary with regular studies to a great extent especially if you are trying to learn a foreign language.We can use our own study sets that we prepare or ones prepared by other users.It enables you to be fast and practical with some arrangements such as bringing words that you have difficulty with into the front lines.If you are a teacher, you can create your own class and invite your students so that they can make use of study sets that are prepared by their own teachers.

-It presents different options such as flashcards, learn, spell, test, match, gravity to you.To explain in detail, students can learn a word, idiom, phrase etc. with visual pictures through flashcards, which increases memorability."Spell" makes them write what they hear, which helps them develop listening skill.In case of writing the answer wrongly, the system corrects it immediately, which also teaches users the correct form of words."Learn" option gives them a description, explanation of something and students try to find what's meant there."Match" and "gravity" make the learning a bit playful and so students have fun while learning.Finally, "test" provides you with a quiz that includes diverse activities such as "fill in the blanks" or multiple-choice questions through which you can check your learning rate.

Pros and Cons

1-Personalizaton: You can prepare your own study set according to your needs and even if you prefer to use someone else's study set, you can arrange it according to yourself.

2-Classification: Quizlet lets you classify words or what you are studying on so that you can separate items that you want to focus on from things that you are already familiar with.

3-Level Setting: You can study according to your level by finding a study set that is appropriate to you.

4-Practical Studying: You can use quizlet even when you are doing something else such as eating or going somewhere.Taking a few looks at virtual flashcards will enable your memorisation to remain in a high level.

5-Lack of Data: Quizlet itself doesn't prepare a content, flashcard which makes you have to create your own content or depend on ones prepared by others which may include wrong information.
