Storybird: A Digital Book Platform

     -Storybird is a platform on which we can create our digital books from poems, fables to story books and share them with other users.It's being used by approximately nine millions users.It improves children's creative reading and writing skills and lets them have entertaining experiences at the same time.Being different from traditional books, it gives us enjoyment and tries to increase users' interest in books with embellishments.I recommend people who like reading and want to generate their own mini books to take a look at storybird and make themselves familiar with it.You can register as either an educator or an individual/student.After registering, it gives you a trial period for seven days.On your homepage, you can see your challenge badges, progress in different fields such as basic or creative compositions, recent writings and readings.There are four main fields that you can interact with: read, write, activities, home.I will provide you with more detailed information below.

Reading

-You can read picture books, longform stories, comics, poetry, flash fictions and blogs written and prepared by other users.It's possible to classify them according to different genres and popularity.You can also see how many users have viewed or liked a product and comments made.

Writing

-If you want to create your own products, you can also write things that I mentioned about above.You will have options to choose different themes and use different font and color for your texts.For instance, if you want to write a picture book, write your title first and change the creator's name that will be name of your account if you want.Then choose a cover page that you feel satisfied with.Later, form new pages on which you will write texts and add picture if you want.In this way, you will make your picture book.Comics are relatively simplier to form.Make your choice among different themes and fill the speech bubbles that storybird will provide.Flash fiction is more used for a single story.It consists of one page.For poetry, you can carry your texts anywhere you want so that your product looks like a poem.Finally, you can prepare longform stories that consist of different chapters.It's more appropriate for writing a long story.

Activities

-There are five sections for activities.Firstly, I recommend you to examine basic writing that will give you a few ideas about products on storybird and be helpful to develop your reading skill by providing simple reading texts.If you don't need it, you can take a look at creative writing that will be encouraging for you to discover your creativity.You can also look over children's song.You can read different thematic and seasonal writings in thematic compositions.And finally, storybird-authored products will be presented to you in levelled reads.
