What is Nearpod?

      -Nearpod, a web 2.0 tool, is a platform that enables us to prepare interactive presentations.When we give a lesson through a presentation, we can add such questions as multiple-choice, open-ended or diverse activities like matching pairs.In this way, students will keep their perception at high level.You can register as a student, teacher or admin.Student profile doesn't require to create an account.It will be enough to use the code that will be given by teachers in order to attend to an activity or lesson.Moreover, teachers can share their contents with students on different platforms such as google classrom or social platforms.Nearpod itself will give them this choice.

-There are three main activity fields on Nearpod.Teachers can organize class discussions for a brainstorming among students.Once students give an answer, teachers will be able to see them and give feedback about whether they are correct or not.It's also possible to hide students' name, which will make them anonymous.This prevents students from being affected badly by each other.Teachers can also prepare gamified quizzes to evaluate students' performance or understand whether they have understood a course subject well enough or not.They write questions and add answer choices.Images and time limitation can also be added.Students will be aligned according to their correct/wrong answers, which is similar to Kahoot in terms of competition.Writing prompts are the third activity type.Students are expected to write a short answer to a question in a limited time here.It's more used to test their general knowledge about a topic.These activities can be done in a synchronous way via live participation choice or in a asynchronous way via student-paced choice.

-In case students' answers can be ridiculously wrong, there are two options for teachers.Along with the choice that will display all answers, teachers can choose only some answers to be displayed.

-When you create a lesson, you can add diverse contents such as nearpod 3d, videos, audios and activities such as quiz, open-ended questions to your slides.For example, you can use images for parts of human body for physics lesson via nearpod 3d.And finally, your presentations will be interactive when you insert these activities among your slides.

-If you are new on Nearpod, you can take a look at contents prepared by others through Nearpod Library.You can classify them according to grade level and subjects as well.If a content appeals to you, you can add it to your library to use it later.You can view all of your works and percentage of participation through reports.
